Brian’s journey in life began with an early exposure to the funeral industry. Growing up in an environment where the funeral industry was a significant part of his life, Brian initially took a different path when he started his professional career as a surveyor.
Brian began his funeral career with Le Pine Funerals in Melbourne, where he spent 12 months learning and developing his skills in the industry. However, after some time, Brian and his wife, Joanne, felt the pull to return closer to home and decided Cobram was going to be the place. With a shared vision and determination, they decided to start their own funeral business, founded on their love for helping families during difficult times. In 1994, they opened the doors of Brian Walsh Funerals, offering compassionate and dedicated funeral services to the people of Cobram and the surrounding towns. Over the next four decades, Brian poured his heart and soul into the business, becoming a trusted figure in the Cobram community. Through his hard work and dedication, he built a reputation for providing personal, empathetic, and professional care to families during their most challenging moments. Brian’s commitment to the community and to the funeral profession has been unwavering, and he has earned the respect and admiration of those he has served. Although Brian is now beginning to step back from the day-to-day operations of the business, his passion for the funeral industry and the values it represents will never fade. This shift has allowed Brian to refocus on other important aspects of his life, particularly his family, with more time to spend with his loved ones, Brian is enjoying the moments with his children, grandchildren, and Joanne. In addition to spending time with family, Brian has a keen interest in technology and enjoys working with computers. Whether it’s exploring new software or tinkering with the latest tech gadgets, his love for all things computer-related remains a constant hobby. When he’s not busy with his family or technology, Brian and Joanne love traveling together, creating memories and experiencing new places
